Fall Open House at 8 Race, Museum of Catasauqua

Come see all the changes at the HCPA’s property along the canal. Though the towpath is still not open from the Coal Yard to Taylor House Brewing, we are ready for visitors!  We’ve enclosed the Mule Barn shed to provide added space for the holiday shoppe and for trail users. We’ve restored the Summer Kitchen with new plaster inside and paint inside and out. We’ve added an ADA ramp for ease of access to 8 Race (at the rear, opposite the Summer Kitchen) and restored the museum on the second floor following last years holiday shoppe.  We’ve also enclosed the lower shed of the Mule Barn for towpath users and to expand the Holiday Shoppe which will be open Saturdays and Sundays from November 15 thru December 14th.

The street widening on Race has narrowed our sidewalk and planted a very non-historic traffic signal pole in front of the house.  Please don’t enter the property at that this light at Race & Lehigh, as the driveway is private property for 2 Race.  Park in the Coal Yard, as usual. We’re still working to improve parking there; which is a designated trailhead for the towpath.
